Overview
Wikimmunity.org offers several different site tools for you to generate revenue and/or to help you to enhance your web site or blog. These tools include the Search Box and the Linking Tool.
Search Box
The Wikimmunity.org search box tool, which is located within the Wikimmunity.org Affiliate Admin Panel offers an easy way to provide your blog readers or web site visitors the ability to search local people, places and things and will enhance the overall quality of your user's experience. Simply copy and paste the code for the search box FROM WITHIN YOUR AFFILIATE ADMIN PANEL, onto your blog or web site page. Once you log in to your affiliate account, click on "Banners/Links" on the left side. Then click "All". Towards the bottom of the page you will see the search box. Click "Show Banner Code" to see the code displayed. Simply copy and paste the code into your web site. The code contains your affiliate id and will keep track of articles/referrals sent through your web site. All searches open in a new window and will give your visitors an opportunity to expand their information on certain locally related topics. Taking the search box tool one step further, registering yourself or your site as an affiliate of Wikimmunity.org can generate revenue for those approved articles on NEW topics that are contributed by you or by your site visitors through the search box tool which contains a unique affiliate ID code. Simply visit the registration page for more details.
Site owners or blog owners can register as an affiliate and use the search box tool to provide additional info on local people, places and things. Using the search box tool, you can enhance your site or blog and provide additional information about topics without having to explain in further detail within your blog or site. Simply allowing your visitors to search for the additional info they need is a great site enhancement. Detailed information about local people, places and things can be provided by including the Wikimmunity search box on your site or blog. Any new articles posted through the search box will enable the site owner or blog owner to receive credit. The earnings potential greatly increases with each search performed as visitors can search an infinite number of people, places and things. Any contributions by your site visitors will result in increased revenue for you or your site.
Article Criteria
Some criteria for articles to be accepted and credited to affiliate include:
- Article must be informative, well written and professional.
- Article must be an original, uniquely written piece, not copied from another site.
- Article must be at least 200 words in length.
- Writer must accept that their article may or may not receive credit based on the editor's discretion. Consult the "Discussion" tab at the top of the article's page for more info about what needs to be corrected or edited in order to receive credit for the article.
- Do not include phone numbers or postal addresses in your articles. Only in paid ads such as this example.
- Articles that are not immediately approved due to one of the reasons listed above or on the "Discussion" tab at the top of the article's page may be corrected/resubmitted and will subsequently be reviewed again and reconsidered for credit.
- AFFILIATE WRITER LOGIN
For feedback on articles and info on why an article was not approved, consult the "Discussion" tab at the top of each article page. Here, an ongoing discussion about topics, article quality and more can be written.
For an example of a well written, informative, factual article about a local restaurant, take a look at Magic Grill. This article meets all of the criteria for a succinct, well written article that would get approved.
Payment Info
Payments are sent on or before the 15th of the month for the previous month's earnings. In other words, if your account balance was $20 in January and then in February your account was credited another $5, your payment of $25 would be sent on or before March 15. The minimum payment is $25 (or whatever you choose it to be within your account), thus your account must reach this minimum before payment will be sent. Payment can be made via PayPal or via business check which must be specified within your account profile.
Linking Tool
The Wikimmunity.org linking tool is located on each page of Wikimmunity.org. Simply look for the link "Link to this page" at the bottom of each page. The linking tool enables you to provide useful links that can more fully explain certain locally related topics on your blog or web site such as info about local people, places or things. Simply go to the page/topic/subject on Wikimmunity.org that you wish to link to, and click on "Link to this page". You will then be presented with the code which you can select and then copy and paste into your blog or web site.
You can even use the linking tool to introduce NEW topics/pages that are not currently on Wikimmunity.org by creating a link to the NEW topic using the code from the linking tool and replacing the current topic within the code with a NEW page/topic, copying and pasting the code into your blog or web site, and then contributing any useful information about the topic into the wiki page on Wikimmunity.org. (See example below) All links using the linking tool will open in a new window and will give your visitors an opportunity to expand their information on certain locally related topics. Taking the linking tool one step further, you can register yourself or your site as an affiliate of Wikimmunity.org (see registration link below) and can generate revenue for newly created, editor approved articles on NEW topics that are contributed by you or by your site visitors through the linking tool which contains your unique affiliate ID code. Simply visit the affiliate writer registration page for more details.
You can use the linking tool to link to topics that are already on Wikimmunity.org, such as DJ Tejo or you can use the linking tool to link to topics that are not currently listed on Wikimmunity.org. It's these topics, such as Papermill Playhouse, or New Brunswick Theater that will enable you to earn credit through your own contribution or the contributions of your site/blog visitors. Anyone who helps to expand information on various topics that are not currently listed on Wikimmunity.org will be helping you to earn additional revenue.
To use the linking tool to generate additional revenue, you must be registered as an affiliate. In order to receive credit for newly created articles, once you have your unique affiliate id (which you get through your affiliate admin panel after you've registered), you must append the id to each link using the affiliate link generation tool within the topic link tool. This tool makes it simple to create your affiliate link for use within your blog or web site.
For the affiliate to manually append their id they will only need to add a few characters (below)
&a_aid=Your_ID_Goes_Here
In this manner: http://www.wikimmunity.org/wiki/index.php?title=Whatever_The_Page_Title_Is&a_aid=Your_ID_Goes_Here
The code will then be: <a href="http://www.wikimmunity.org/wiki/index.php?title=Whatever_The_Page_Title_Is&a_aid=Your_ID_Goes_Here" style="color:green;cursor:help;border-bottom:1px dashed;text-decoration:none;" target="AnswerQueryWindow" title='Look up "Whatever_The_Page_Title_Is" on wikimmunity.org'>Whatever_The_Page_Title_Is</a>.
